Our National Tour of ‘Wild’ is over!
After a wonderful two months of performances up and down the country, our national tour of “Wild” has come to a close.
'Wild' isn't a typical theatre show - it's a tapestry woven from the stories of more than 70 people exploring what “wild” means in nature, in our towns, and within ourselves. Through original songs, immersive soundscapes and rich storytelling, audiences were invited to pause, laugh, reflect and feel - and to share their own experiences after the show.
Our tour took 'Wild' beyond the Black Country to communities and venues up and down the country. From our sold-out opening night at Thimblemill Library in Smethwick to vibrant performances in village halls and community centres across England, each venue brought its own energy, warmth and stories of what 'wild' means in our lives.
One of the most wonderful things about the tour was witnessing how audiences connected with the show. We've been overwhelmed by the positive feedback that 'Wild' has received, with audiences describing it as "rich, intense, intimate, funny, heart warming and profound". These reactions confirm what we at Black Country Touring have always believed - that local stories have universal resonance, and have the power to connect us all.
We would like to thank everyone who made our 'Wild' tour possible - the brilliant creative team, rural touring schemes, venues, staff, volunteers, and every audience member who came and shared their 'wild' with us.
The tour was a part of Create Tour Connect - an innovative partnership project commissioning, developing and touring theatre across the rural touring network in England. A heartfelt thank you to all of the partner organisations from the rural touring network, and to Applause who are leading the project.
