Community Promoters

Local people transforming their community venues for live theatre and dance

The Community Promoters scheme is designed for enthusiastic individuals and groups who would like to put on an entertaining night of theatre or dance for their community

Black Country Touring supports and subsidises community groups throughout this fun and rewarding project, where groups select, promote and put on a professional touring theatre or dance show. We work with a wide and diverse network of promoters across schools, libraries, arts centres, galleries, and community centres.

“Can’t wait to do the next one, an amazing night and everyone left with a smile!”

Get Involved!

As a Community Promoter, you take control of all aspects of promoting a show – selecting from our menu of the best shows, choosing the venue it takes place in and promoting it to your community. Black Country Touring has a large, varied range of productions to select from, the main thing is that the show chosen is what your community will want to see. Be it a fun circus show for families or the best in diverse, contemporary theatre and dance– the choice is yours!

The next stage is creating the promotional material and planning for the event itself: links have been made with the touring company, venues are sorted and your roles for the day are organised. Once tickets are sold and promotions are in full swing the day of the performance will soon arrive!

At the event, with your volunteers in place – running the box office, putting on refreshments, even selling raffle tickets – things will come to life as the theatre company sets up and you await your audience! We’ll be on hand to help but the event belongs to you, your volunteers and your community.

“Another fabulous theatre piece, this was very special due to the subject and being a local piece.”

“As always the support from BCT was superb.”
